And yet, it’s the non-commonality of experience that gives such flavor to any individual person’s life. For instance, I’m widowed. Something less than half the people that have ever lived, or ever will live, will share this experience with me. Thus the “I can’t even imagine what you went through” response I get when I tell my story. Still, I ache to tell it because it has had such a profound impact on my life. I hope it’s never boring, but I know it’s often uncomfortable for people to hear.
