But, if you weren’t born someplace else, you might not even realize it. THAT is privilege in action and the reason half the population doesn’t even realize the power they wield. When you grow up surrounded by it (even if you’re black) you don’t see it. It’s when someone like you writes something like this, shining a bright light on it, that it actually comes into focus. That’s the point when everyone says “ohhhhh! Now I understand!”
