a poem

the final crystals of ice leave the lake

the door slams shut on winter

tiny new buds gather on the trees

birds sing in high celebration

green sprouts delight in the gala

as sunlight dances on the waves

animals join in the revelry

all of nature in euphoric delight

a no holds barred, once a year blowout party to honor the singular glory of all creation

as the people stare in fascination at the little electronic device in their hand

father, motorcyclist, old retired guy who’s just a little lost on a blue marble corkscrewing its way to oblivion
