Hear, hear! What the young people don't realize is that we didn't get here with one vote and we won't get out with one either.
The ship of state turns slowly, like a sailboat. The hand that's on the tiller right now is the hand that got Ronald Reagan elected in 1980. A vote for Biden (and more importantly a vote against Trump and McConnell and flipping the Senate) is the first step towards changing the direction to the left. Go too far too fast and the reaction can swamp the boat.
It's events like these that motivate citizens to get involved. If we just voted in a Sanders style candidate there would be many people believing they got what they needed and they might stop pushing. We need them to keep pushing. For decades. The country must be remade from the inside out. Violent revolution doesn't do that, it just trades one form of authoritarianism for another.
