I remember meeting up with my last girlfriend at little bar on boat in the Hudson River. We were already “sort of” friends. We talked for a long time and I kept coming back to “I want a love that’s light and easy”. I didn’t mean casual. I meant something that didn’t suffocate me the way my last relationship had. She seemed to understand and be fully on board with that. Alas, it wound up choking the life out of me and ended two and half years later. Thanks for showing me that I’m not completely unrealistic in what I think good love should look like.
