I’m sorry for your losses.

My wife’s ALS diagnosis in 2006 had much the same effect on our marriage. It was over two years before I realized what had happened. We were afraid to speak to each other about it. We got to a better place, but she only lived for another few months. I didn’t mean to stop watering the grass, the diagnosis was like someone paved over the lawn.
