No, you don’t suck. Neither do the rest of us. I never actually thought I did. Until I got into a relationship that made me question Every. Single. Thing. about myself. Some of that questioning was good (it’s why I write now, after all). Most of it was toxic though. That relationship is no more. And I’m healthier now because of it. And yet it gave me gifts I didn’t have before.
No pain, no gain. It’s true in every facet of life.
There’s bravery in telling your story. A courage a great many don’t have. And every time we push that publish button we summon that courage yet again. Opening ourselves to all sorts of negativity, ridicule and toxicity. We evolve, as individuals, as a species and as a culture by telling our stories. If we keep them to ourselves we steal from the common source from which we emanate and we waste the time we have been granted here.
No one sucks. Some have more to give than others and, as I like to say, if nothing else at least I can serve as a bad example. But only if we let others see us and/or hear our stories.
So, let your freak flag fly.
