One of the gifts I was given by my wife’s illness and death was the ability to sit in silence and turn off the mind. I didn’t realize it until I began a relationship with someone who didn’t possess that ability. I finally understood what it must have been like to be around me when I was younger. No wonder my wife let me spend all that time in the garage!
