The idea that we have any control at all is perhaps the biggest illusion of all. Sure, we can craft a planned life, full of depth, enlightenment and success. Then one morning we wake up with a strange stiffness in our back. We go to the doctor to find we have stage four colon cancer and mere months to live.

You said it, all we have is here and now. This very moment. And if we make the most of every moment, one day we wake up and realize we had a pretty fantastic life. But only if we wake up.
