The ship of state never changes direction quickly. Except in the case of something like an actual revolution. As we grow older we're less likely to accept the death of our children and the destruction of civil society as trade-offs in return for rapid change.
It takes decades to right the wrongs of the past. Those decades can be spent making slow progress, as in a Biden/Harris ticket. Or, they can be spent recovering from civil war in which half a generation of lives are lost. We've done both in this country. As long as it still seems possible, we should opt for a peaceful swing of the pendulum. This is a move in the right direction, as was the Obama/Biden ticket. Let's hope America speaks loudly enough this time to prevent the alternative scenario from needing to take place.
